Team Pakistan piled up 451 runs in the first innings of the opening Test and surrendered for 180 mere runs in the second. The Lankan Lions amassed 533, declared their first innings after losing nine wickets and achieved a small target of 99 with for the loss of just three batsmen. The Islanders lead the two match series at 1-0 and will anticipate repeating the same feat in the second one while the visitors will try hard to level it.
The run machine of Sri Lanka, Kumar Sangakkara, powered his 10th Test double hundred in the previous match while Angelo Mathews, Mahela Jayawardene and Kaushal Silva registered their fifties. Jayawardene will be playing his last Test match at his home ground against Pakistan and will have a target of 35th hundred.
