West Indies proved their supremacy at home by winning the first One Day International against Bangladesh by a margin of three wickets with plenty of overs to spare. The home side was in trouble and lost their five top order batsmen for 34 mere runs when Denesh Ramdin and Kieron Pollard took them to stability. The hosts are one up in the series and will try to grab it by clinching the second game while the visitors will do their best to come back with a better performance.
Kieron Pollard along with Denesh Ramdin guided the Caribbeans to a comfortable victory with a 145 runs sixth wicket stand. They contributed 89 and 74 runs respectively while the top four batsmen are required to get back to the business. Dwayne Bravo was their most successful wicket taker with four while Ravi Rampaul, Kemar Roach and Sunil Narine should bowl according to the plans.
The opener Anamul Haque powered his third ODI ton whereas Tamim Iqbal and Nasir Hossain contributed a few runs for Bangladesh. Their middle order batting must concentrate to ensure positive results. Al-Amin Hossain was impressive with the ball while Sohag Gazi and Mashrafe Mortaza can be dangerous for the rival batsmen.
