France vs Jamaica Prediction - Will France Be Able To Defeat The Reggae Boyz?

Next Sunday, France will take on Jamaica at Stade Pierre-Mauroy on the outskirts of Lille on what will be Les Bleus last preparation match before Brazil’s World Cup.

France will go head-to-head with Honduras on their first match at Group E and next Sunday’s match against Jamaica will certainly offer Les Bleus a good opportunity for them to test themselves against a team that might have some similarities with Los Catrachos.

France’s last match against Paraguay earlier this month ended in a disappointing 1-1 draw, on a clash where the French side have left something to be desired. Didier Deschamps’ boys got the lead on the 82nd minute of the match, when Real Sociedad’s versatile winger Antoine Griezmann opened the score for France, although their advantage didn't last long since Cáceres got the equalizer for Paraguay on the dying moments of the match.

France keep on combining some excellent performances with some other quite mediocre and that fact might not be a good thing for them at the World Cup. With strong and competent teams such as Switzerland and Ecuador on their World Cup group, the French cannot relax as they might risk failing to grant a place at the next stage of the tournament. Even the match against Honduras might pose a complicated challenge for France, since if they fail to win, the pressure for succeeding will increase and that might negatively affect their performances against Switzerland and Ecuador.

Against Paraguay, Didier Deschamps tested a hybrid 4-3-3 system with Valbuena and Remy providing support to Arsenal’s centre forward Olivier Giroud. If Valbuena can easily perform the winger role, both on the left and on the right side, the same thing does not apply to Remy and, because of that, Deschamps used him as a sort of inside forward or shadow striker, offering close cover to Giroud. The French manager’s experience was probably not successful and with Ribery out of the World Cup, it might be important for Didier Deschamps to better reconsider his alternatives. Because of his unique skills and the excellent moment he is currently enjoying, Antoine Griezmann may constitute the best option available to replace the Bayern Munich midfielder.

As for Jamaica, the match against France will constitute their third friendly match on the last twenty days, after drawing against Egypt last Wednesday and after two consecutive defeats, against Switzerland and Serbia, respectively, last month. The Reggae Boyz failed to qualify for the World Cup once again and judging from their recent performances they will certainly not constitute any serious threat to a more experienced and far more skilled French side.
