Next Friday, Levante will travel to Andalusia to measure forces with Málaga at La Rosaleda for round 38, the last one of Liga BBVA, on a match that might allow the visitors to extend their winning run to three consecutive matches.

Levante
Will Levante continue their good run at La Rosaleda next Friday?

Last weekend, Levante grabbed another important victory 2-0 at Estadi Ciutat de Valencia against their neighbours and rivals of Valencia. Les Granotes put up another quality performance, quite similar to the one they displayed against the league leaders (Atlético Madrid) two weeks ago, and once again relied on the inspiration of their goalkeeper, the Costa Rican Keylor Navas, who has probably played his last match at Estadi Ciutat de Valencia last Saturday.

At the end of the match, Levante’s head coach Joaquin Caparrós claimed that the home win against Valencia was the best way to end a fantastic season in front of their supporters.

Their next match at La Rosaleda will certainly not be an easy one especially after what Málaga did at Vicente Calderón last Sunday, which surely gave them an extra boost of motivation for the last match of the season.

For the clash against Málaga, Joaquin Caparrós will not be able to count on Pedro López, who was sent off against Valencia last weekend, and on Héctor Rodas, who is sidelined due to injury.

As for Málaga, the Andalusia side managed to cause an unexpected upset to the league leaders Atlético Madrid last weekend as they delayed La Liga’s title decision for the last match of the season. Málaga put up an interesting performance at Vicente Calderón and took advantage of some sort of nervousness from Atléti to create several goal chances and even to clinch one by Samuel on 65th minute of the match.

For the match against Levante, the German manager Bernd Schuster, who will surely leave Málaga at the end of the season, will not be able once again to count on the Argentinean centre back Marcos Angeleri, who was sent off against Los Colchoneros last weekend, while the Argentinean defensive midfielder Fernando Tissone and the Spanish defender Sergio Sánchez will also miss the match due to injury.

When both sides met at Estadi Ciutat de Valencia back in January, Levante won 1-0 thanks to a first half goal from David Barral. The Comunidad Valenciana’s team is favourite for next Friday’s match because of their recent performances, although one cannot totally shun the inconsistent Málaga side, which has been combining quality with numbness throughout the entire season.
