Next Sunday, Valladolid will travel to Andalusia to take on Real Bétis at the emblematic Benito Villamarín for round 37 of Liga BBVA on a match that the Pucelanos need to win if they want to be part of the Spanish football top tier next season.

Will Javi Guerra lead Valladolid to victory against Real Bétis next Sunday?

After sealing an impressive draw against Real Madrid at Nuevo José Zorrilla last Wednesday, Valladolid managed to climb a few places on La Liga’s table and are now at the 16th place, with the same points of Getafe, who are the first team below the relegation line. Los Pucelanos almost shredded Real Madrid’s dreams of winning La Liga’s title this season and they proved to be a very strong side when playing at home once again after already having defeated Barcelona this season.

At the end of the match, Juan Ignacio Martínez highlighted his team’s power when playing at Nuevo José Zorrilla, although he also did mention that nothing is decided yet and that Valladolid need to keep focused on the two remaining matches if they want to avoid an unpleasant relegation to Liga Adelante.

For the match against Real Bétis, JIM will probably have all of his players at his disposal since there aren’t any names on the medical sheets so far this week.

As for Real Bétis, the home match against Valladolid will mark their goodbye to Liga BBVA in front of their supporters at Benito Villamarín. The Béticos continued their poor form last week when they visited Almeria and collected yet another defeat. Gabriel Calderón’s side managed to put up a pleasant performance for a team that is already condemned and only sucumbed during the dying moments of the match due to a goal from the Nigerian midfielder Ramón Azeez.

For the match against Valladolid, Real Bétis Argentinean manager will probably still not be able to count on Nono, Chuli, Didac Vilà, Salva Sevilla, and Xavi Torres, all sidelined due to injury.

When both sides met at the Nuevo José Zorrilla back in January, the match ended in a boring goalless draw. For next Sunday’s match, Valladolid are clear favourites, if one judges both sides’ recent performances. Nevertheless, the poor away form from the Pucelanos this season and the fact that Real Bétis want to offer their supporters a thank-you final win at La Liga might change the final outcome of the match.
