Next Saturday, 18th of October 2014, a highly motivated Real Madrid will travel to the Comunidad Valenciana to measure forces with Levante at Estadi Ciutat de Valencia for round eight of Liga BBVA, on a match that Los Blancos need to win if they don’t want to lose the trail of the front trio formed by Barcelona, Valencia and Sevilla.

Will the super Ronaldo catapult Real Madrid to another big win next weekend?
Will the super Ronaldo catapult Real Madrid to another big win next weekend?

After a bumpy season start, Real Madrid embarked on a series of fantastic matches with six consecutive wins both on domestic and international competitions. Los Blancos smashed Bilbao two weeks ago at Santiago Bernabéu, after granting a victory that cost them blood, sweat and tears at Sofia, Bulgaria, against Ludogorets, for the UEFA Champions League.

The current European champions' excellent streak is quite probably related to Ronaldo’s spectacular moment and to the tactical “repairs” that Carlo Ancelotti implemented in the team. The Italian manager changed his usual 4-3-3 / 4-2-3-1 base to something quite similar to a 4-4-2 system with Modric and Kroos in the middle, Bale and James Rodríguez at the wings, and with Ronaldo lurking behind Benzema up in the front. This change of style has been proving to be very effective so far as the team scored no more no less than 27 goals in their last six matches. Although Real’s defence line keeps showing some signs of unrest, their midfield and forward lines, on the other hand, are displaying evident signs of synchronization and are causing absolute mayhem on the opponents' defensive sectors.

For the match against Levante, Ancelotti is not yet certain if he will be able to rely on the contribution of Benzema, Coentrão and Sergio Ramos, who are still recovering from minor injuries.

As for Levante, the new season is being fairly difficult to them. The team from the Comunidad Valenciana seems not to be fully recovered from the departure of their former manager, Joaquin Caparrós, last Summer and they are still struggling to absorb their new boss’ ideas.

Last round, Levante almost grabbed their second win of the season, as they were winning at Eibar until the dying moments of the match, but on the 93rd minute the Italian forward Federico Piovaccari shredded Les Granotes' hopes of getting away with another set of three points.

Despite playing away from home, Real Madrid are firm favourites to win the match and it is unlikely that they will experience last term’s difficulties to overcome a Levante side that has not yet shown what they are capable of this season.
