Next Saturday, 6th of December 2014, the all-powerful and record-breaking Real Madrid will entertain Celta de Vigo at Santiago Bernabéu for round 14 of the Spanish Liga BBVA, a match during which the hosts will try to secure their position at the top of the table keeping their closest contenders at bay and during which the visitors will certainly try to repeat the historical deed they performed at Camp Nou more than one month ago.

Real Madrid look literally unstoppable, as they extended their winning streak to sixteen wins in a row after overcoming Málaga at La Rosaleda last Saturday night. It wasn’t an easy win, far from that, since the Andalusia team left behind, once more, a very courageous image of themselves and caused plenty of trouble to the current European champions, especially during the last ten minutes of the match. Real’s players may have exhibited some signs of fatigue, particularly due to the large number of matches they have been taking part recently, and it will certainly be increasingly harder to extend their remarkable winning streak, as the players might start to feel the pressure as the matches go by.

Last Saturday, Los Blancos’ leading man, Cristiano Ronaldo, although he didn’t net in any of his team’s goals, had a key role in the win, as he contributed with the assists both for Benzema and Gareth Bale’s goals. The Portuguese star is experiencing a remarkable moment and, alongside with Carlo Ancelotti, he probably is one the man responsible for Real’s invincibility.

The clash against Celta next Saturday will certainly be far from easy, especially if one have in mind that the Galician side have already managed to overcome Barcelona at Camp Nou this season and might want to repeat their fassade against Real on the next match.

For that particular test, Carlo Ancelotti will not be able to rely on the contribution of the skilled Spanish midfielder Isco, who was sent off against Málaga last weekend, and of Modric, that will be sidelined due to injury for a long time.

As for Celta, the Galician team has been going through a less positive moment in the season as they’ve failed to win their last three matches. Last Saturday, they were defeated by Eibar at Los Balaídos, thus conceding their second defeat in a row and somehow refrained their supporters’ enthusiasm that flew sky high after the team defeated Barcelona at Camp Nou earlier last month.

At the end of last weekend’s clash against Eibar, a match that Celta dominated from the first minute but failed to score a single goal, Eduardo Berizzo highlighted the fact that such defeat was a good eye opener, both for the team and for the supporters.

Real Madrid are firm favourites for the upcoming clash, although, from what we have been witnessing from Celta this season, they are very capable of causing some major problems to Los Blancos.
