Borussia Dortmund vs Juventus Prediction - It's Time For Settle Or Score

Next Wednesday, 18th of March 2015, two former European champions, Borussia Dortmund and Juventus, will measure forces at the beautiful Westfalenstadion for the second-leg of the Last 16 stage of the UEFA Champions League.

After a nightmarish first half of the season, Borussia Dortmund have recently started a slow but at the same time solid comeback at Bundesliga and are now on a five-match row without a single defeat at the German league. Nevertheless, after their defeat at Turin later last month, Dortmund have only managed to win one league match against their neighbours and all-time rivals of Schalke 04. In the last Bundesliga rounds, Jürgen Klopp’s boys didn’t manage to get anything better than two draws, one with Hamburger SV and another one against Köln last weekend.

After their considerably positive period, the ghosts of the recent past have started to hover over both the team’s supporters and the players themselves and an hypothetical defeat against Juventus next Wednesday could increase the team’s already high anxiety and frustration levels.

The upcoming clash against the all-powerful Italian champions does not come at the best of times, nevertheless, given the first-leg’s result, Dortmund has to gather everything needed to cause a major upset to Juve at Westfalenstadion next Wednesday.

As for Juventus, the Vecchia Signora has everything in place to win the Serie A title once again this season and, at the same time, they are looking to go as far as possible in the UEFA Champions League. Although some claim that the “new” Juventus of Massimiliano Allegri is not as good as the one of Antonio Conte, but the truth is that they haven’t been facing any major problems to keep ruling over Italian football and their international performances are also nothing to be ashamed of.

The first-leg result against Borussia Dortmund does not allow the Italian team to face next Wednesday’s match with a light heart and they will certainly need to dig very deep in order to book a place in the next stage of the competition.
