vs | Liverpool |

Next Tuesday, 4th of November 2014, the super confident Real Madrid will entertain an unbelievably inconsistent Liverpool at the emblematic Santiago Bernabéu for the UEFA Champions League, a match after which the visitors need to grant at least a point in order to keep their hopes of snatching a place in the next stage of the competition very much alive.
Real Madrid continue with their glorious winning streak and they have already managed to dethrone their all-time rivals, Barcelona, from the top of La Liga’s table. Last weekend, Los Blancos granted a precious win at Andalusia over Granada and benefited from Barça’s surprising home defeat against a mighty Celta de Vigo, who once again proved to be one of the most interesting Spanish teams at the moment.
With the usual suspects, Cristiano Ronaldo and James Rodríguez, particularly inspired once again, Real Madrid didn’t experience many difficulties to overcome an usually well organized Granada that never found a way to react to Ronaldo’s early goal and ended up by being defeated 4-0.
Los Blancos granted their 11th consecutive win (both on domestic and international competitions) in just one month and a half and at the same time reached the impressive mark of 37 goals in just 10 La Liga matches.
Real Madrid look unstoppable and if we look at the current moment their next opponents of Liverpool are experiencing, it does not seem very likely that the latter will manage to upset the current UEFA Champions League holders at Bernabéu next Tuesday.
Moreover, the historical English team are not having a particularly brilliant year, both on domestic and international competitions so far. After a shaky home win over Swansea in the middle of the week for the Capital One Cup, The Reds weren’t good enough to overcome Newcastle at St. James’ Park last Saturday and suffered their fourth defeat of the season for the EPL. Liverpool are already twelve points behind the league leaders, Chelsea, after just ten rounds and, although there are still plenty of matches to go until the end of the current campaign, it is not very likely that The Reds will be able to reach José Mourinho’s boys at the top of the table.
Liverpool’s Champions League campaign has also been far from brilliant, as they were already defeated twice in the three matches they have participated in so far.
Real Madrid are beyond any doubts firm favourites for the next Tuesday’s clash, as it is not very likely that the current unstable Liverpool will be able to cause a major upset to the current European champions.
