Last year’s runner-up, Rafa Nadal, is seeded third this year and would like nothing more than to get off to a fast start. He would have liked a softer first round match because Youzhny is a battle-tested competitor with a big enough game. I look for Rafa to triumph but in a closer match than might be expected. Rafa has only won in Melbourne once, in 2009.
This may be the match of the day. The immensely talented Juan Martin faces a tough competitor with an equally big game, Jerzy Janowicz. If you like hard hitting, aggressive tennis, here is a match you want to watch. Hampered by injuries, Del Potro has sunk to number 338 on the tour but he remains a player nobody wants to see across the net. He has never lost a first round match in Melbourne and has not lost a first round Grand Slam event since 2008. But, Janowicz may be the toughest first round pairing Juan Martin has faced. A third round knockout last year, the 24-year old has reached as high as number 14 on the tour. We think this match has upset potential and we pick Janowicz to rely on his youth and quickness edge to take Juan Martin out early.

27-year old Karin Knapp first played in the Australian Open in 2008. She has reached the 2nd round on two occasions, 2009 and 2014. With career earnings of $1,488,182 and with a career won-lost record of 79-89, the Italian is a decided underdog against our pick to win the Open title, Simona Halep, the third seeded Romanian. At 23 years old, Halep enters the match with a career marks of 147-88 and more than $6.5 million in earnings. After reaching the quarters in Melbourne last year and sampling large doses of tour success in 2014, Simona is poised for a big, big year in 2015. There is no way, Simona loses this first round match that kicks off play on Monday.
If a first round upset is brewing on the women’s slate Monday, 25-year old Belgian, Yanina Wickmayer, might pull it off against forceful but erratic Russian, Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova. Yanina is no stranger to Grand Slam events and success. After reaching the 4th round here in 2010, the Belgian seemed destined for greatness but as so often happens, her career sidetracked, But, she does have 180 career tour victories. Her 23-year old Russian first round opponent is a heavy favorite but has had erratic results in tough matches in the past. Anastasia suffered a first round knockout here last year. The 23rd seed has 192 tour victories and more than $4 million in earnings but if Wickmayer can apply pressure early, anything can happen. This match could be the day’s first real upset.

Simona Halep's odds is too low, lay her at Betfair. Odds will increase for sure. As soon as odds crosses 1.1 back her and hedge.
MUNNA bhai what about rafal nadal ??? pavlyuchenkova odd also low to start trade !!! Can I go for lay and back !!?
When odds are low and in the initial rounds you can apply Acca.
Paddy Power is best for Acca. Choose the players who are over 90% sure to win, pick 4-5 such players and apply Acca. You can combine Men's, Women's, Doubles, Mixed Doubles etc.
But Bhai one upset and all goes waste with it...and if we combine a women and mixed double it becomes deadly dangerous
Yes that's life. With Acca odds are multiplied and return is much higher so you have to risk less stake. Just try with £10 or so for Acca odds of over 2.0. If use wisely Acca are a great way to make money with very less risk and higher return. Don't try Women's Tennis. Try Men's Singles and Doubles. You can even mix it with other sports, markets. I've tried it many times and it has worked. You can also try Lucky 15. Don't try the Acca promoted by bookies as they are sure way for loss. Do your own homework.
