Next Saturday, Real Madrid will entertain an extra motivated Rayo Vallecano at Santiago Bernabéu for round 31 of Liga BBVA. This week was an utter nightmare for Los Blancos after the two consecutive defeats that have thrown the team to the third place of the league table behind their rivals, Atlético Madrid and Barcelona.

Carlo Ancelotti told the media that it is time for the team to bounce back from the two negative results and to understand what they did wrong on those matches. Real Madrid lost to Barcelona last weekend and was not able to surpass a competent Sevilla side on Wednesday at Andalusia. The team has conceded two consecutive wins for the first time since 2009 and they seem to somewhat have lost their balance. Next Saturday’s match against Rayo Vallecano will be a good test to check if Real Madrid still have what it takes to claim the Liga BBVA title this season.

Carlos Ancelotti will not be able to count on Jesé, Arbeloa and Khedira, all of whom are sidelined due to complicated injuries. On the other hand, it is likely that the Italian boss might include in the team Angel Di Maria and Sergio Ramos, who missed the match against Sevilla due to suspension.

Rayo Vallecano are enjoying their best period so far this season. The Vallecas team is on a fantastic five match undefeated row with four wins, including an away victory at Anoeta against Real Sociedad, a home win against Valencia, and a draw with Valladolid.

Paco Jémez’ boys experienced several difficulties this season: although they manage to play an attractive football style, they only achieve a row of positive results at the end of last month. The Spanish manager will probably still not be able to count on Tito and Galeano for next Saturday’s match, since both are still recovering from previous injuries.

When both teams met last November at Vallecas, Real Madrid imposed a 3-2 defeat to Rayo, despite the excellent performance from the home side.

Paco Jémez is currently the manager with the most wins with Rayo Vallecano at Liga BBVA and he will certainly try to transform this negative streak from Real Madrid into something positive in order to help his team win the battle against the relegation ghost.
