Sania Mirza, the famous Indian tennis player and Cara Black from Zimbabwe are playing versus
Lucie Safarova from Czech Republic and Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in this year's 3rd round match of Tennis Wimbledon Ladies Doubles Championship.

Black and Mirza did a good job against Vera Zvonareva (RUS) and Martina Hingis (SUI) in the 1st round match
winning by 2:0 (6:2, 6:4), while the Czech/Russian force of Lucie Safarova and Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova managed to knock out
the German/Slovakian team, Mona Barthel and Janette Husarova, also winning by 2:0 (6:2, 6:2). Both teams have easily passed through to the 2nd round of the championship.

Cara and Sania began their cooperation in 2013 by immediately winning the first two tournaments in Tokyo and Beijing and entering 15 tournaments overall, while Safarova and Pavlyuchenkova started playing together in 2012, played 57 matches and entered 25 WTA Double Tournaments.

Their overall score in 57 matches is 33 wins and 24 losses. Black/Mirza's overall score in 48 matches is 36 won and 12 lost matches. Cara and Sania won 3 tournaments in general, two in the year of 2013, as we've already mentioned (Beijing, China and Tokyo, Japan, both played on hard courts) and one this year (Oerias, Portugal, clay court).

Safarova and Pavlyuchenkova won 2 tournaments so far, the first in 2012 (Charleston, USA) and the second last year (Madrid, Spain), both on hard courts.

Both teams have started this tournament from round 2 and these two ladies doubles have already played against each other last year on the China Open Ladies Double tournament.

Head to head

The Mirza/Black duo is leading 1:0 in head-to-head duels.

Since they won by 2:0 (6:3, 6:2) in the quarter finals of the tournament and there is no doubt that watching Safarova and Pavlyuchenkova trying to return the "favor" for last year's defeat on China Open is going to make for an intriguing match. Both doubles started well this season and they will try to prove that they can
compete in prestigious tennis tournaments such as Wimbledon.

Prediction

Based on the overall results of these two ladies doubles, Black and Mirza have the slight advantage, regardless of the fact that Safarova and Pavlyuchenkova have been cooperating for way longer than them, and that they have more experience in bringing opponents down. They will try to find an easy way to pass Black/Mirza and go through to the 4th round of Wimbledon Championship, but one thing is for sure - this is going to be a really tough and long match since the Black/Mirza team is doing fantastic job after only a year and a half of playing together.
