Somehow this news didn't come up on my radar. I just read that Optimal Payments PLC, the owner of NETELLER, has completed the acquisition of skrill.

There is not email sent to customers though and it's still unclear if they are going to merge/move skrill into NETELLER account or not. Most probably both will continue to exist as separate eWallet for sometime. I'll update if I manage to get hold of anyone from any of these companies to find out what they are going to do with accounts. Stay tuned!

I just checked with NETELLER and their reply is that both eWallets will continue to function separately for time being.

This will create monopoly in online gaming eWallet market as these two were the most popular for punters from all over the world where paypal sucks and other eWallets don't exist.
