One of the greatest and most successful Test captains of India, M S Dhoni, called it a day after the conclusion of the third Test against Australia. He led his side from the front and was instrumental in placing his team on the top spot in the longer versions of the game. The services of the 33-year-old skipper will be remembered for ever since he led his side in 60 game, won 27, lost 18 and 15 of them were drawn. Team India has played three Tests against the hosts Australia in the ongoing series lost the initial two while the third one ended as a draw. The home side looks favourite to clinch the fourth and the final one whereas the visitors will try to win it as well.
The wonder boy of cricket and the leader of India in the final encounter, Virat Kohli, continued with his brilliant form in the series by smashing 169 and 54 runs. Ajinkya Rahane powered 147 and 48, Murali Vijay is batting superbly followed by Shikhar Dhawan and Cheteshwar Pujara. Their bowling department is being looked after well by Umesh Yadav, Mohammed Shami, Ishant Sharma and Ravichandran Ashwin.
The stand in skipper of Australia, Steven Smith, has become run machine for his team and hammered 192 runs. Shaun Marsh was unlucky to miss his third Test ton by one mere run while Chris Rogers, Shane Watson, Brad Haddin registered fifties. Mitchell Johnson, Ryan Harris, Nathan Lyon and Josh Hazlewood are continuing with their brilliant form with the cherry.
