One of the most promising and young opening batsman of Australia, Phillip Hughes, was hit by a bouncer and left this world days before his 26th birthday. He made the atmosphere sad all around the globe, the entire players’ community in general and the Kangaroos in particular were shocked while the proposed dates of Tests were altered.

Two countries commenced their Test series in 1947-48 when India visited Australia and the home side won the first game at Brisbane by an innings and 226 runs. The last Test was held at Feroz Shah Kotla, Delhi from March 22-24, 2013, that India won by six wickets. Both nations took part in 86 Tests, Australia was successful in 38 matches, India triumphed in 24 and 24 of them ended in a draw. The latter lost all four Tests on their previous tour of Australia in 2011-12 and the former faced the identical fate in India when the home side grasped the series at 4-0 in 2012-13.

Team Australia was humiliated by Pakistan 0-2 in their recent Test series in the United Arab Emirates while India surrendered the five match series in England against the hosts by 1-3.

Players to watch

David Warner was the top scorer in two Test series vs. Pakistan with 239 followed by Steven Smith and Mitchell Marsh who contributed 174 and 164 runs. Michael Clarke should lead his side from the front and Shane Watson along with Chris Rogers can spark at home grounds. Mitchell Johnson, Peter Siddle, Josh Hazlewood, Nathan Lyon and Ryan Harris will be the difficult bowlers to handle.

Murali Vijay, MS Dhoni, Ajinkya Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara negotiated the English bowling nicely on their last trip abroad while Virat Kohli, Shikhar Dhawan, Suresh Raina and Rohit Sharma are the pillars of their batting. Bhuvneshwar Kumar was too good as an all-rounder during four Test series whereas Ishant Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja, Mohammed Shami, Varun Aaron and Ravichandran Ashwin will form a match winning bowling combination.

  1. I wanted to do the series prediction but didn't get time. So I'm giving my analysis here for the series. Our men in blue have started the practice with positive notes and both batting and bowling department looking solid. We never have troubles with fielding so it's not a topic to discuss. This team looks a lot different than what I saw them when they visited here in England. They look confident after ODI wins at home. Most of the squad is same as the ODI one which thrashed SL.

On the other hand Kangaroos have had their bit of luck or you can say team spirit in overcoming SA. They will have to overcome bereavement after tragic loss of Phil Hughes and get back in action. Australians are high with victory like Indians and this is going to be a tough series for both sides.

I love Australian grounds, unlike boring (sic) English grounds they are lively and offer help to everyone. Batsmen will find easy to bat on, pacers will get help with new ball and spinners can find few opportunities as well. They have big grounds and fielders will have enough to show their acrobatic skills as well.

For us this presents a challenge and we have no clear favourite to start with.

My personal trading strategy at BetfairBetfair will be to go with team batting first. Watch them through initial overs and then start trading accordingly.

If Indians bat first then it will be tricky. I don't expect a lot from openers, at least one or two will fail early. My expectations will lie on the middle order. Early losses will give opportunity to collect higher odds.

Australia batting first can be better for us as I expect them to go beyond 350+ in 4 sessions. This will put pressure on Indians and they are not good in Test when put under pressure on fast pitches.

Draw will be highly unlikely but can't be ruled out if pitch turns dead after few days.

    • Need ur help. suggest which site will be good for online betting. i created account on paddypower but it is not accepting my axis bank debit card details. which site will be easy to deal with. • Thanks Bhai... i got it!!!! it seems u r such a nice person.

  2. Australia has good winning/draw records at Adelaide Oval in recent years. They defeated India in Jan 2012 by 298 runs after scoring 600+ runs in first innings. That is why I said Australia batting first and scoring 350+ will be favourite to win.

  3. Aus will win

  4. Howz going mate! MB waiting for your valuable prediction for this match. I had a slump in profit as you disappeared without a trace. Give on spot prediction plz. Cheers!

    • I'm still here.
First of all if you are not dozing off then here is a secret jackpot for you. India is 7.2 @ BetfairBetfair which is insanity. Bookies are treating India like dirt. 7.2 is by far too high for a team like India. This offers us jackpot. Back India now with all your money and wait and watch how it grows over time. Cashout when time and mood is right, don't be greedy.

      • Munna bhai, i already put my all money on in at odd 8.5. But now !!!! how long i have to wait ??? maybe my money gone !!! all my winning money in last four month. got any chance to get it back munna bhai. pls help me ( This match also dn`t have cash out system !!) what i should do ?

      • Munna Bhai....For this match on Betfair Cashout option is not there since its on Australian territory...if i have backed india at higher odds i need more money to pump to lay india if odds shortens .Bhai i dont have much balance left....lost a lot in yesterdays Pak-NZ match.Help me Bhai..

        Regards,
        Vivek

        • You have to back at all higher odds as it keep increasing so that your average odds are towards the higher side. Once odds starts to come down lay it to green up. I've already explained it on my blog http://munnabhai.net/betfair-trading-strategies/what-is-lay-betting.html

If you have just backed on one odds then it's big mistake. You have to keep backing all the way up. India's odds went up as high as 35 and now it's 11.5 do the maths to see how much profit you could have earned had you backed it all the way when odds were climbing up. My average odds for India comes out to be 19.5 so I'm in loads of profit.

I've already explained it many times, when cashout is not available just lay at lower odds with appropriate amounts which is same as cashout. When you enter lay and amount BetfairBetfair will show you result how the profits/loss for all 3 outcomes with >>.

        • You don't need extra balance to green up. When odds are appropriate to create green up on all 3 outcomes then you don't need to put any extra money. BF automatically calculates profit/loss and unless you are going beyond the required bet to green up/lay it wouldn't take any money from your balance but it will put back money into your balance after laying. My average odds for backing India is 19.5 I backed India with a total of £5000, India's odds are now 11.5. If I lay India @ 11.5 then I generate profit and this profit will be put back into my balance. I wouldn't require extra £52500 (liability) to lay India.

          • Thanks Bhai for this info....i never knew that you don't need extra balance to lay if its a green situation under Australian wallet since i tried it on Aus-SA series and when i backed at higher odds and was to lay it was not taking without extra balance....i will try on this match on suitable odds...still how will the system take the lay bet until and unless you keep the laying amount.

One more question bhai...Are the trading guides on Football,Cricket and Tennis from SportsTradingLife like Dynamic Football Trading etc etc are of any use considering there steep price.

            Regards,
            Vivek

            • I'm sure that you don't require extra money to lay if you have already have bet on back side and you are not laying for more than what could be taken from back bet. When you lat at lower odds than you have backed with same amount or less then you are always in profit so why BF will require more balance. If you exceed the liability than what BF can take from your back bet then you need to have more money. I've done it many times and most of the time I end up with 100 times or so money on each of three outcomes than I've in balance. I'm sure Aus market also follows the same rule. Just try it.

Don't follow any strategy or you will be screwed. Follow your own strategy what suits you. First rule is observe and second rule is predict if you are getting good into this then trade.

Try 1-2 click scalping on batting side in Test match. I tried for few hours in the beginning of Aus innings before going to bed and made some profit as they were hitting boundaries. It's very low risk as you have 5 days to recover if there is a collapse. Keep some back bet on other sides to kepe it balanced and avoid more losses.

It's pain in arse and I'm furious that most of these matches are played in night time and I can't do any live trading. I've to rely on my prediction power to bet in night and wake up to see all green. It works for Test matches but I can't get into ODIs. Add to that we don't get live broadcast of these matches here in London without shelling out extra money as all these are on paid channels.

  5. Dhoni is kept out which, I think, is good for Indians. They have been doing very well without him so far. Let's hope these youngsters can show some maturity too. I expect them not to panic in Australian pressure. Playing in the land of bullies is never easy.

  6. "Land of bullies" I like that ;)

    • LOL!
Yes that's right! Kangaroos always talk a lot and try to win matches with intimidation rather than their skills. If everything fails they resort to bouncers. Bring back Dennis Lillee, we miss him ;)

  7. And we have lift off. Clark won the toss and as per my prediction decided to bat first. This is a golden opportunity for traders. India's odds will sky rocket as Aus keeps collecting runs and you know now what to do next. I'm expecting 350+ let's see how it goes...

    • Munna bhai, u said aus bat 1st than go for aus !!so, I wrong put my money on aus what I should do ? Cash out and pick India. Odd ?

      • Aus are dealing in boundaries so looks good. Hold off for sometime Aus looking strong.

        • munna bhai ye match draw tho nahi hoga na?

    • Munna bhai, u really great India on winning track !! It could be big jackpot match for me tq so much..bhai, so far the game is good is that got any possible to change Australian side ??

  8. Manage to green up with £9k of profit on this match. Here are the details http://munnabhai.net/sports-betting-profits/over-9k-of-profit-on-australia-v-india-1st-test.html

  9. Clarke declared, this match opened up a lot now. We are back to square one. India can even win the match. 364 in 98 overs is not a big ask.
