The second match of the Big Bash League, 2014-15, will be played between Sydney Sixers and Melbourne Renegades at Sydney Cricket Ground. The former defeated the latter twice in the previous event, qualified for the semi-final and surrendered against Perth Scorchers. Sydney Sixers played eight matches, won six, lost two and attained 12 points while Melbourne Renegades grabbed just three out of eight and managed six points. It is going to be a new beginning for both sides and they will enter the forthcoming tournament with different ideas.
Brad Haddin, Nathan Lyon and Steven Smith are the players in form of Sydney Sixers who will not be available for a few games since their services are required for team Australia against India. Moises Henriques, Nic Maddinson, Michael Lumb and Steven Smith were the main scorers while Dwayne Smith and Jordan Silk will add their batting strength. Their bowling will be covered by Brett Lee, Mitchell Starc, Doug Bollinger, Sean Abbott and Steve O’keefe.
Aaron Finch was the top scorer of Melbourne Renegades in the last season well assisted by Ben Rohrer and Tom Cooper while the inclusion of Jesse Ryder, Dwayne Bravo, Matthew Wade and Andre Russell will give them new life. Peter Siddle is a part of the Kangaroos squad but they still have a strong bowling line-up consisting Nathan Rimmington, Callum Ferguson, James Pattinson, Aaron O’Brien, Andre Russell and Fawad Ahmed.
