The Blue Shirts won the third One Day International of the five match series vs. Islanders by a good margin of six wickets with 35 balls still available. The entire Sri Lankan team went back to the pavilion for 242 in 48.2 overs and India chased the target successfully by hammering 4-245 after consuming 44.1 overs. The home side has already grabbed the first two ODIs, leads the series at 3-0 and will anticipate winning the next one as well whereas the visitors will try to achieve favourable results in the remaining matches.
MS Dhoni, the Indian skipper, has not recovered from his thumb injury and will be unavailable for the last couple of ODIs as well. Mahela Jayawardene blasted the 17th hundred of his career in the last game, Tillakaratne Dilshan chipped in with a fifty whereas Angelo Mathews is enjoying with the willow but their middle order must contribute. The Sri Lankan bowlers are struggling at the Indian wickets and they must find a better solution for positive results.
