South Africa conceived a consecutive defeat in the five One Day International series as Australia rules it with a margin of 3-1 and looks strong contender to add another win. The Proteas scored 267 runs for the loss of eight wickets in the measured 50 overs and the Kangaroos attained the target by smashing 7-268 with six balls still available. The honours of the game went to Steven Smith who powered second hundred of his career and that too within a space of two months. The fifth and final ODI will be played in Sydney where the hosts will try to extend their lead to four and the visitors will fight hard to make it 3-2.
Steven Smith blasted 104 off 112 deliveries while Matthew Wade and James Faulkner contributed brisk 52 and 34 runs while George Bailey, David Warner and Shane Watson are backing up nicely. Mitchell Starc, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Glenn Maxwell and Pat Cummins are bowling smartly.
AB de Villiers is the highest run getter of the series with 271 at an excellent average of 67.75 that comprises three fifties. Hashim Amla, Quinton de Kock, David Miller and Faf du Plessis should play their natural game which can enable their team another win. Morne Morkel, Dale Steyn, Wayne Parnell and Vernon Philander are the in form bowlers of the Proteas.
