2 wins against fellow relegation strugglers has made Fulham chances of surviving the drop all the more brighter. They are just 2 points 17th placed Norwich, who face Manchester United this weekend. For Fulham, the match against Hull City will be another chance to take precious points off another club that is struggling for form and are not yet completely out of the relegation scrap. Felix Magath seems to be having the desired effect on the players, and while it may still be too little too late, Fulham will at least put up a fight rather than the downward spiral they were going through all season.

Fulham vs Hull City: Both teams need the points to ensure survival

To put it mildly, Hull City certainly have their minds on the future. Not of their existence as a club or their EPL status, but on the FA Cup final date they have with Arsenal. It is the only time Hull City have reached the final of a major cup competition, and they can be excused if they can’t wait for the big match day to come along. However, their work in the Premier League is not done yet. While there is no immediate danger that they would fall into the relegation trap, things can quickly change, even if there are only 3 more games to play.

Fulham would be looking to take another 3 points from what they will believe are fellow relegation strugglers. Hull City, on the other hand, have complacency as their biggest enemy. They are in a position where they can feel relatively safe, but if results don’t go their way, they could find themselves at the wrong end of the table. It is therefore imperative that they try and get maximum points against Fulham so that they can play the rest of the games with relative ease, and prepare themselves for the important FA Cup final.

Injuries

Fulham have had 7 people on the injury/sick list, but the good news is that a sizeable number of players are scheduled to return. Heitinga, Mitroglu and Duff are still out for the long term but Parker, Diarra, Richardson Riether are all slated to return for the Hull game, though they are still a doubt if they are fit enough to make it to the game.

Hull City themselves have a long injury list, with only Shane Long likely to be ready for the weekend, though it is still doubtful. Aluko is scheduled for a return next month but the rest of McGregor, Brady, McShane and Dudgeon are all out for the longer term.

Head to Head

Fulham and Hull City have played each other a total of 81 times, with no team having a clear dominance. Hull City have won 31 of these games while Fulham have managed to notch up only 26 victories.

Form

Fulham – LWWLL

Hull City – LWLLW

Prediction – Fulhm – 2-1 Hull City

With Hull City having a game in hand, they will certainly believe that their chances of losing Premier League status would be almost none, which could make Fulham’s chances to win all the more better. Fulham would certainly be up for this match, as getting all 3 points will take them a long way towards survival.
