Will Barça be able to repeat last December's result?
Will Barça be able to repeat last December's result?

Last week at Parc des Princes, the home side Paris SG didn’t stand a chance against Luis Enrique’s superbly organized Barcelona. The Catalan team showed once again why they are one of the best European teams at the moment by smashing PSG by 3-1, on a match where the devilish Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez caused mayhem on the French defensive line. The former Liverpool’s forward scored two of the three goals from the Catalan team and gave hell to David Luiz and his back line’s team mates.

Barcelona controlled every aspect of the match against PSG, who, without Zlatan Ibrahimovic, failed to cause any major troubles to an extremely solid Spanish team. Barça had plenty more ball possession, as well as several more chances to score throughout the entire match.

Last Saturday, the Blaugrana sealed another win at La Liga against the always dangerous Valencia and because of that managed to keep Real Madrid at bay. The match, however, was fairly complicated, and it will be interesting to see if Barça’s players will be physically fit for the clash against PSG next Tuesday.

As for Paris SG, the current French champions will need a miracle to overcome Barcelona at Camp Nou next Tuesday and, since those kind of things usually don’t happen in football, it is very unlikely that they will manage to grant a place at the semi-finals stage of the competition.

Laurent Blanc will already be able to rely on the contribution of his most important player, the Swedish wizard Zlatan Ibrahimovic, but not even he will probably be able to save them from certain elimination.

The last time both sides met at Camp Nou was back in December and Barcelona smashed Paris SG by 3-1. There is a great possibility of the same thing happening again next Tuesday, given the recent form of both teams and because of what happened at Parc des Princes last week.
