Men’s Finals
Wimbledon 2015 comes to a close on Sunday with Breakfast at Wimbledon. In the Men’s Finals, the two best grass court players in the game will do battle in a repeat of the 2014 finals. Will top seed Novak Djokovic again prevail?
Novak Djokovic (1) VS. Roger Federer (2)
The two top seeds have worked their way through the draw and firmly established their grass court supremacy. Federer’s straight set dispatch of local favorite Andy Murray (3), one of the game’s bets returners, was disappointingly easy while Djoko efficiently sent Richard Gasquet packing in the other semifinal.
Anyone doubting Federer’s ability to win this match did not see the effectiveness of his amazing serve and one-handed backhand on Friday. Murray never had a break opportunity and looked lost mo0st of the match. The underdog seeks his eighth Wimbledon title and 17th Grand Slam championship on Sunday.
Federer owns a 2015 victory over Djoko (Dubai, 6-2,7-5) and emerged victorious in three meetings last year. If Serbia’s top seed has a nemesis, it is the Swiss! Federer will also enjoy the role of dominant crowd favorite, a role he seemed to have against the Scot in the semis.
This is Federer’s best chance to win another Slam. The surface gives him an edge no other tour player possesses. We think Federer will get his 8th Wimbledon crown on Sunday in four tough sets. He is simply serving too well, even for Djoko.
