Fittingly, this family match between two of Wimbledon’s most prodigious champions has captured the fancy of tennis fans around the world. Having won five 5 Wimbledon crowns each, these hard serving women are at the top of the tournament’s modern day record books.

As Serena marches to her third Grand Slam title of the year and her fourth in succession, her sister will be the first hurdle of several potential formidable opponents in this top drawer draw.

Serena has won 14 of their 25 head-to-head matches. However, Venus won their last battle (Montreal 2014) in three gritty sets. Venus is an accomplished clay court player and poses a bit of a psychological challenge to her younger sister, who was pushed to the limit by Britain’s Heather Watson in her third round match. The twosome has earned more than $100 million in WTA prize money during their careers so this one is not as much about money as it is pride. Venus can serve with Serena but she cannot equal her power groundstrokes. We don’t think Venues believes she can win this match. We agree. Look for Serena to master her emotions and win in straight sets.
