All four top seeds have made the Men’s quarterfinals at Wimbledon 2015. The most pressured was top seed Novak Djokovic who was on the ropes for much of his two-day, five-set match with 14 seed Kevin Anderson. Will the seeds continue their dominance and hold the line in the quarters?
Andy Murray (3) vs. Vasek Pospisil
The Wimbledon grounds will be rocking as the only Brit left in the tourney will face upstart challenger, Canadian Vasek Pospisil, who may be as surprised as the tournament committee to have reached such a lofty place. The British Columbia native is 9-12 this season and would appear to be overmatched against the talented Murray who overcame stubborn Ivo Karlovic in the Round of Sixteen.
Pospisil got here by knocking out streaking Victor Troicki in five tights sets. Vasek’s ground strokes were the difference as he wore the Serb into the ground with great retrieving skills and slicing shots that seemed to hug the grass.
Murray has seen it all before. This should be an easier match than against the powerful Karlovic, the 23rd seed. No upset here; Murray sprints to the semis, where Roger Federer will be waiting. Be sure to hear the crowd and take in the spectacle on Murray’s Hill.
