The championship of the Big Bash League, 2014-15, will be decided after three games while the two top teams of the event, Adelaide Strikers and Sydney Sixers will fight in the first Semi-Final at Adelaide Oval. The former is placed at the supreme position of the table with 13 points earned after eight games comprising six victories, one loss and the other ended without any result. The latter took part in equal matches, grabbed five, surrendered three and held the fourth spot with 10 points. Adelaide Strikers triumphed in their last pool match vs. Melbourne Renegades by 22 runs and Sydney Sixers clinched their final game against Sydney Thunder with a margin of four wickets. Both teams require two wins to wear the coveted crown and a tough fight is anticipated in the coming game.
Travis Head blasted 71 off 34 deliveries vs. Melbourne Renegades and Kelvin Smith demonstrated an unbeaten knock of 41 whereas Craig Simmons, Tim Ludeman, Ryan ten Doeschate and Alex Ross have batted excellently during the event. Johan Botha is leading his side from the front by his all-round performance while Ben Laughlin, Adam Zampa, Kane Richardson and Gary Putland form a deadly bowling combination.
Jordan Silk played a magnificent unbeaten knock of 69 against Sydney Thunder and Riki Wessels got 30 runs. Their strong batting line up enjoys the services of Nic Maddinson, Michael Lumb, Ed Cowan and Sean Abbott is a fine all-rounder. Ryan Carters and while Nathan Lyon, Brett Lee, Doug Bollinger, Steve O’Keefe have earned them victories with their excellent bowling.
