The ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 will be kicked off on February 14 where India will try to defend its title. The warm-up matches will commence on February 8 while the first game will be played between Australia and India at Adelaide Oval. The Blue Shirts are currently visiting Australia and have shown a dismal performance in the longer as well as shorter versions of the game. They were unable to win any match out of three they played in the Carlton Mid ODI Tri-Series, will try to mend it in the remaining matches and in the warm-up encounters. The Kangaroos have played superb cricket and will be looking ahead to maintain their rhythm in the world cup.
Steven Smith has become the backbone of the Australian batting and has scored runs on a regular basis in both Test and ODIs. He will be a major threat for the rival teams whereas David Warner, Aaron Finch, Michael Clarke, George Bailey, Glenn Maxwell and Brad Haddin are their competent batsmen. James Faulkner and Shane Watson will serve as solid all-rounders and their bowling will revolve around Mitchell Johnson, Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins, Xavier Doherty and Josh Hazlewood.
Rohit Sharma impressed with his batting in the only match he played against the Aussies in the Tri-Series and powered 138 runs. Virat Kohli will be an important player to be watched as MS Dhoni, Ajinkya Rahane, Shikhar Dhawan, Ambati Rayudu and Suresh Raina must forget their recent performance and make a confident beginning. All-round performance will be required from Stuart Binny, Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin while Axar Patel, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Shami, Ishant Sharma and Umesh Yadav are capable of brining victories to their team.
