Team England demonstrated reasonable cricket in the recently concluded Carlton MID ODI Tri-Series by qualifying for the final spot and lost the important game against the hosts, Australia. The Englishmen were defeated twice by Australia in the pool matches but they beat the formidable Indian side in the remaining two games as the Men in Blue were unable to win even a single one. West Indies toured South Africa, lost the five One Day International series at 1-4 and they were beaten all ends up by the home side. The Caribbeans will enter their first warm game vs. England and will try to gain their confidence while grasping it.

Moeen Ali and Ravi Bopara have emerged into fine all-rounders while they carry a lethal bowling attack comprising Steven Finn, Chris Woakes, James Anderson, James Tredwell and Stuart Broad.
