After overpowering Sri Lanka in Test Series New Zealand will start their World Cup preparation with a 7 series ODI series at Christchurch today. McCullum and his high spirited team is all set to showcase their best ever performance in ODI series and they have all reasons to be at the top of the world. Their all round performance in Test Series have been superb and at home they will have advantage over visitors.
Sri Lanka have struggled in ODIs. They were whitewashed and humiliated by their Northern neighbors India in another long series. If they don't regroup and comeback then they will face nothing but another miserable ODI series.
Good news for Sri Lanka is that the veteran trios of Dilshan, Mahila Jayawardene and Kumar Sangakkara are in the team and they are in good form. Another morale boosting news for them is that Malinga is back in the team and hopefully he will start his preparation for the World Cup as well after a long injury induced sabbatical. He might not start the first ODI though.

New Zealand v Sri Lanka Series Tips

It will take a lot of collective effort from Sri Lanka to defeat in-form Kiwis. New Zealand is not going to give up easily specially when they will be under pressure.
I favour New Zealand to win the series. If Malinga is fit and back in the team then he will be threat to NZ. SL "Tridev" of Mahila, Dilshan and Sangga when joined by Malinga can take on any team anywhere in the world if they are in good nick. But first they have to gather all the courage to comeback to a level which they were during last world cup.
If you are doing series betting then back New Zealand all the way from first ODI till the last one.
1st ODI prediction

Sub-continent teams are different beast in ODIs. It's their favourite form of Cricket which they grew up playing. SL is not a bad team at all, it's just that they have lost winning momentum. They still have one of the most solid batting line-up which any team will find hard to trouble if they are in form. They have struggle in Test but I expect them to put some fight in the ODI.
NZ have excellent ODI record at home. Last year they won 6 out of 11 ODIs. Sri Lanka have lost 7 out of 10 most recent matches in NZ. Stats favour NZ too.
If SL are batting first and put up 275+ score then NZ might struggle to chase. NZ are well known for choking in ODI chases. They are also short of at least 2 batsmen. SL are capable of chasing down any score should any of their 3 veterans stays on the crease. SL bowlers will have to restrict NZ if they want to win. So it's all come down to SL bowling to decide the match. If they do good job then SL will be favourite, if they fail then SL might struggle to win. NZ bowlers will undoubtedly perform well at home and trouble SL batsmen. For NZ their batsmen have to come forward to rescue. NZ will rely heavily on Brendon McCullum who has his lowest average against SL. If he fails then NZ will struggle.

1.58 is not enough to risk. Keep 20% on this and start collecting higher odds if wickets fall early.
Odds will move like snail in the beginning, last 10 overs of first innings will be crucial for trading, that's where odds move a lot if first 40 overs have been boring.
