Next Saturday, the already coronated German champions - Bayern Munich - will entertain Borussia Dortmund at Allianz Arena for round 30 of the Bundesliga on what will surely be the most important match of the weekend.

Who will win next Saturday's dugout battle at Allianz Arena: Guardiola or Klopp?
Who will win next Saturday's dugout battle at Allianz Arena: Guardiola or Klopp?

After granting this season’s Bundesliga title, Bayern Munich have suddenly hit the brakes on their impressive campaign and they have only grabbed one point from the last two matches. Last weekend, Bayern Munich were actually defeated for the first time this term as they sucumbed at the hands of their Bavarian neighbours of Augsburg. Two weeks ago, Bayern had conceded a 3-3 draw against Hoffenheim on a spectacular match that took place at Allianz Arena.

Pep Guardiola’s side seems to be more relaxed than they actually should be, which will certainly force the Spanish head coach to rally his troops and to inject the necessary motivation for them to end the season with glory.

For next Saturday’s match, the Spanish boss will not be able to rely on the contribution from Thiago Alcantâra, Badstuber, Weiser, and Weihrauch, all of them sidelined due to injury.

Der FCB’s opponents next Saturday, Borussia Dortmund, will certainly face the match with renewed optimism and motivation after the excellent performance they put up last Tuesday against Real Madrid. Despite their win, Borussia failed to proceed to the next round of the competition but their manager Jurgen Klopp was very happy with his side’s top notch performance, as he considered that his side was fairly superior to Real Madrid during the entire match.

Die Borussen campaign at Bundesliga this term has been marked by inconsistency and plenty of injured players. Last weekend, Dortmund grabbed an important home win against Wolfsburg after being losing until the 51st minute thanks to a first-half goal from Ivica Olic. Nevertheless, on what was an exciting second-half, Lewandowski and Reus offered the home side a deserved win.

For next Saturday’s clash, Jurgen Klopp still has plenty of players that will not be part of his list of chosen players. Schmelzer, Subotic, Gundogan, Blaszczykowski and Bender will all miss the match due to injury.

When both teams measure forces at Westfalenstadion last November, the home side was hammered by Guardiola’s “new” Bayern 3-0. Borussia Dortmund are certainly not interested on history repeating itself next Saturday and they will certainly do everything within their grasp to cause an upset to the current Bundesliga champions  and to prove that the gap between both sides on the league table does not reflect the actual difference between the teams.
