Next Sunday, 17th of May 2015, an extremely inconsistent Manchester United will measure forces with Arsenal, hurting in their pride, at the emblematic Old Trafford for round 37 of the English Premier League.

When both sides met at the Theatre of Dreams back in March on a FA Cup match, the Gunners caused Manchester United a major upset and put an end to the Red Devils' already unlikely possibility of winning a trophy this season. On a match where Louis Van Gaal’s men had an apparent control of the match, it was Arsenal who managed to took advantage of United’s usual defensive turmoil to clinch what one could call a deserved win.

Two months after that magical night for the Gunners, it is probably time for United to seek revenge. With just two matches to go until the end of season and after a torturing period with three consecutive defeats in four clashes, United need to win in order to secure the fourth place of the table and to still nurture some hopes of changing places with Arsenal in the third place, something that would grant them immediate access to the UEFA Champions League next season.

Last weekend, the Red Devils returned to wins at Selhurst Park by beating an always complicated Crystal Palace side by 2-1, thanks to goals from Juan Mata and Marouane Fellaini.

After the team’s rampant pre-season performances, Louis Van Gaal’s honeymoon at Manchester United slowly started to crumble. It is now fair to wonder, after all the negative things that happened this season, if he will be able to end the season in great style...

As for Arsenal, after an impressive streak of matches without a single defeat, the Gunners inexplicably succumbed at the Emirates Stadium against the always unpredictable Swansea last Monday night.

Arsene Wenger’s men controlled almost the entire match with plenty more ball possession and considerably more chances to score than their opponents, but, for some reason, they've failed to overcome their former netminder, Lukasz Fabianski, who once again showed great class at the Emirates last Monday.

Arsenal need to win next Sunday, otherwise they will seriously jeopardize their possibilities of being this season’s EPL runners-up.
