Next Friday, the super motivated Roma will measure forces with a renewed AC Milan at Stadio Olimpico for round 35 of Serie A, on what will surely be the most important match of the weekend at Italian football.

Will Clarence Seedorf be able to defy Roma's recent hegemony?

Roma are indeed enjoying a fantastic moment at Serie A. The team from the Italian capital city obtained an excellent win at Florence last weekend thanks to a goal from the Belgian midfielder Radja Nainggolan during the first half of the match. The Lupi are on an eight-match undefeated streak, having in fact won every single one of those matches. On last weekend’s match against Fiorentina, Roma pulled up their ranks and controlled the home side's attempts to score with great class, not allowing the Viola to present the strong attacking football they usually display at home.

Next Friday’s clash against AC Milan will certainly not be an easy one for Rudi Garcia’s side, since the visitors are currently enjoying their best moment of the season.

For the match against the Rossoneri, the French manager will still not be able to count on the Dutch midfielder Kevin Strootman and on the defenders Federico Balzaretti and Mehdi Benatia, who are sidelined due to injury, and on Mattia Destro, who is suspended.

As for AC Milan, these are truly excellent times. Clarence Seedorf’s boys are on a fantastic moment at Serie A with five consecutive wins and they have renewed their hopes of claiming a place at UEFA Europa League next season. Last weekend, AC Milan hammered Livorno 3-0 at San Siro with goals from Mario Balotelli, Adel Taarabt, and Giampaolo Pazzini.

The former Dutch international and AC Milan midfielder, Clarence Seedorf, is beyond any doubts the main person responsible for this improvement from the Rossoneri. After his arrival, despite all the difficulties the team were facing, the Milanese side managed to bounce back and they will now battle against their all-time rivals of Inter Milan and Parma for a place at the UEFA competitions next term.

For next Friday’s match, Seedorf is not yet certain if he will be able to count on the contribution of the Japanese midfielder Honda and of Muntari and Essien, who have not yet recovered from their respective injuries. The Italian Pharaoh, Stephan El Shaarawy, is almost recovered from his long term injury, but he will certainly not be part of Seedorf’s plans just yet.

When both sides met at San Siro back in December, the match ended in a 2-2 draw with goals from Muntari and Zapata for the home side,  while Destro and Strootman netted in for the visitors. On next Friday’s clash, history might repeat itself due to both sides' excellent moment and it is difficult to predict on who will win the match.
