The champions of Indian Premier League 2014, Kolkata Knight Riders, started off the 2014 Champions League Twenty20 with a bang by defeating the formidable Chennai Super Kings in the first game. Lahore Lions of Pakistan made an impressive beginning of the event by getting through to the main round after winning their qualifying games against Mumbai Indians and Southern Express. It will be a wilful match for Lahore Lions since they would like to beat the strong unit of KKR who are solid as rock.
KKR were in deep trouble in their first encounter against Chennai Super Kings after losing half of their side for 51 mere runs. Andre Russell played a heroic knock of 58 from just 25 balls comprising 5 giant sixes and 4 fours and Ryan ten Doeschate remained unbeaten for 51. Gautam Gambhir, Manish Pandey, Yusuf Pathan and Manvinder Bisla are capable of hitting back with their willows. The bowling department will be looked after by Piyush Chawala, Sunil Narine, Russell and Umesh Yadav.
Mohammad Hafeez played a match winning innings of 67 for Lahore Lions in their previous match vs. Southern Express and Saad Nasim contributed 31. Ahmed Shehzad, Nasir Jamshed and Umar Akmal can play attacking kncoks whereas Aizaz Cheema, Mohammad Hafeez, Wahab Riaz and Adnan Rasool are useful bowlers.
