Next Saturday, 4th of October 2014, the current German champions, Bayern Munich, will entertain a surprising Hannover side at the Allianz Arena for round seven of the Bundesliga on a match that the home side needs to win in order to maintain their place at the top of the table and keep Borussia Moenchengladbach at bay.

Will Bayern Munich repeat last season's result?

Despite some unconvincing performances at Bundesliga so far this season, Bayern Munich still stand firm at the top of table and have already the best defence line in the competition.

Things are no different when it comes to the UEFA Champions League, where after two matches Bayern are already at the top of their group with six points. Last Tuesday, the German side struggled to defeat CSKA Moscow at Russia but they managed to grant a narrow 1-0 win thanks to a penalty kick that didn’t exist but was nevertheless conceded by the referee during the first half. Bayern’s performance was not impressive but in the end it was enough to overcome a CSKA side that somewhat lacked ambition for large periods of the match.

Pep Guardiola’s men have also benefited from Manchester City’s home draw against AS Roma in order to cement their position at the top of the group.

At Bundesliga, the Bavarian team seem to have already recovered from their slip-up against Hamburger SV two weeks ago as they won their last two matches with great authority. Both Paderborn and Köln were unable to sustain Bayern’s power, who scored six goals on their last two matches.

For the next Saturday’s clash against Hannover, Pep Guardiola will still not have Schweinsteiger, Thiago Alcantara, Javi Martinez and Ribery at his disposal, since they are still sidelined due to injury.

As for Hannover, although they keep playing some quality football, they have lost two of their last three matches, something that constituted an huge blow to the team’s morale. Last weekend, Hannover didn’t manage to overcome an inconsistent Stüttgart team and ended up by losing the match by 1-0. Despite the fact of having plenty of chances to score throughout the match, Hannover weren’t able to react to Schwaab’s goal on the 69th minute.

The last time both teams met at Allianz Arena, the home side easily won by 4-1 and there is great possibility that the same may be happening on next Saturday’s match, as the visitors might still feel the weight of last weekend’s defeat and allow Bayern to embark on an easy win.
