Next Wednesday, 24th of September 2014, the powerful Roma of Rudi Garcia will visit Parma at Stadio Ennio Tardini for day four of the Italian Serie A on what will certainly be the most important match of the round.

Will Parma put an end on Roma's victorious streak?
Will Parma put an end on Roma's victorious streak?

Roma seem to be unstoppable so far. The Rudi Garcia’s team has won all of their official matches this season so far and they are undoubtedly enjoying a fantastic moment of form. The French manager started a revolution at Roma last season and although he was not be able to win the Serie A title, the work he has been producing speaks for itself.

After smashing an unstable CSKA Moscow for the UEFA Champions League in the middle of the week, Roma continued their great moment when they received and defeated Cagliari by 2-0 at Stadio Olimpico last Sunday. Two early goals by Destro and Florenzi offered Roma a comfortable lead, nevertheless, the visitors were a tough bone to chew and caused some trouble to Roma’s defence line.

The Lupi’s versatile 4-3-3 keeps proving to be fairly effective and, even without spending big last Summer, Roma are currently at top of table together with Juventus. The Ivorian forward Gervinho has been particularly inspired recently and he ever since he has arrived in Italy, he is probably enjoying the best moments of his career.

The visit to Stadio Ennio Tardini will surely be a major test for the Italian capital city’s team and it will be interesting to see if they will be able to continue their winning streak and collect another clean sheet against a fairly strong opponent such as Parma.

As for Parma, Roberto Donadoni’s team does not yet seem to be fully recovered from being cut off of European competitions this season. That UEFA’s controversial decision has somewhat affected a team that was one of the most impressive clubs to play for Serie A last term.

After two consecutive defeats at the hands of Cesena and AC Milan, Parma managed to snatch their first win of the season last weekend against Chievo. Donadoni’s men won by 3-2 and continued to display some clear deficiencies in the defence as they have already allowed eight goals this season.

The last time both sides measured forces at Ennio Tardini, the visitors sealed a 3-1 convincing win thanks to goals by Florenzi, Strootman and Totti. Despite the quality of Parma’s team, Roma are firm favourites for next Wednesday’s match.
