Next Saturday, 29th of November 2014, a “hurt-in-their-pride” Celta de Vigo will entertain the newcomers Eibar at Los Balaídos for round 13 of the Spanish Liga BBVA, on a clash during which the home side will certainly want to “correct” their less impressive performances from their previous two matches.

Celta’s historical win at Camp Nou catapulted the team to the media’s headlines but, just two weeks after that fantastic achievement, Los Celestes are back to Earth and with their feet steadily stinking in the ground. The Galician team has failed to win their last two matches and if a home draw with Granada was nothing to be proud of, a defeat at Vallecas, on a match they have dominated, is fairly more worrying. Eduardo “Toto” Berizzo’s boys didn’t have the best of matches against Rayo last Sunday, even though they were fairly superior to the home side. Celta had 57% of ball possession and several chances to grant the three points but, in the end, they were defeated by a solo goal by Bueno on the 20th minute of the match.

Next weekend’s clash against Eibar is a good opportunity for the Galician team to return to wins in front of their enthusiastic supporters. Their opponents are a fairly brave and hard working team, but the quality of their game is miles away from the one Celta has been displaying so far this season. For that particular match, “Toto” Berizzo will certainly still not be able to rely on the contribution of Oubina and Carles Planas, since both remain sidelined due to injury.

As for Eibar, the brave La Liga’s newcomers are certainly still recovering from their last weekend’s defeat against Real Madrid. The Basque team didn’t stand a chance against the current European champions and ended up by losing the match by 4-0.

Eibar, who are making their debut at the Spanish football top tier this season, are, nevertheless, having a good stint so far and their recent defeat at the hands of Real Madrid will not, by any means, stain what they have done so far at La Liga.

For the clash at Los Balaídos, the team’s manager, Gaizka Garitano, will probably still not be able to count on Vila and Piovaccari, both currently sidelined because of injury.

Despite their last weekend’s upset, Celta are firm favourites to win the match but they will certainly need to work hard in order to overcome the courageous Basque team.
