Next Saturday, 13th of September 2014, Celta de Vigo will play host to Real Sociedad at Los Balaídos on a match of the third round of the Spanish Liga BBVA.

The Celta de Vigo of Toto Berizzo is risking to become a serious case of success at La Liga. The Argentinean manager, who has worked with the football master Marcelo Bielsa some years ago, is creating a Celta that is already enchanting both the supporters and the media. An attractive balanced game style with a special focus on the attacking movements has so far been the trademark of a “new” Celta that has already impressed last season by the hand of the current Barcelona’s manager, Luis Enrique.

Despite last round’s draw at Córdoba on a match that was dominated by the Galician team, Celta put up another quality performance only stained by Fede Cartabia’s goal during the second-half. During the international break, Berizzo’s boys smashed the Portuguese side of SC Braga, who attended the UEFA Europa League final not a long time ago, by some impressive 4-1.

The good moment of Nolito, Orellana and Larrivey is offering Celta an impressive power up at the front, which has been fairly well backed up by the team’s midfield trio, where the Danish international Krohn-Dehli is enjoying a particularly good moment.

For the match against Real Sociedad, Eduardo Berizzo will still not be able to count on the contribution of the Spanish defensive midfielder Oubiña and the Argentinean international Augusto Fernández.

As for Real Sociedad, last round’s impressive win over the European champions Real Madrid has certainly helped their supporters to overcome the two previous defeats against their neighbours Eibar and Krasnodar.

The Basque team started the season on a slow pace and the defeat at the hands of the La Liga’s newcomers Eibar opened some breaches on the players’ confidence levels, who weren’t later able to overcome the Russian side of Krasnodar on a UEFA Europa League match in the middle of the week. Nevertheless, Real Sociedad’s manager, Jagoba Arrasate, managed to rally the troops and clinch a fantastic win against Real Madrid after conceding two goals on the first eleven minutes of the match.

For the match at Los Balaídos, Jagoba Arrasate is still not certain if he will be able to count on the Icelandic striker Alfred Finnbogason, since he is not fully recovered from his recent injury.

When both sides met at Galicia last season, the match ended in an exciting 2-2 draw. Despite their win over Real Madrid, Real Sociedad are not favourites to win next Saturday’s match as they will face a team that seems to be fairly more consistent this season.
