After a fairly complicated campaign last season and the somewhat unexpected departure of Juan Antonio Pizzi, Valencia have apparently managed to find the stability they need to return to their good old days. The Portuguese manager Nuno Espirito Santo is probably the one to blame for Los Che’s recent improvement and despite all the doubts that were raised surrounding his lack of managerial experience, he is has been carrying out a splendid job so far.

Nuno’s versatile 4-3-3 system is already proving to be the most appropriate style to fit the players he has at his disposal and the team seems to be more and more synchronized as the matches go by. The midfield trio formed by Parejo, Javi Fuego and André Gomes is the engine behind the team, which seems to be fairly attacking prone. Rodrigo, Piatti and Paco Alcácer are those responsible for scoring goals and they have netted in four goals so far, two from the unpredictable Argentinean forward, Piatti, and another two from the young Spanish international, Paco Alcácer.

Valencia seem to be on the right path for success but the season is very long and their next match against Getafe will certainly be another major test to a team looking to recover the time they have lost season.

For the match against the Madrid team, Nuno Espirito Santo will still not be able to rely on the contribution of Álvaro Negredo, who is still sidelined due to injury.

As for Getafe, the Azulones didn’t manage to grab any points during their visit to Sanchez Pizjuan last weekend after having defeated Almeria at home for the previous round. The former Romanian international and current manager of Getafe, Cosmin Contra, was probably the main man responsible for helping the team to escape an almost certain relegation last season. Contra brought a renewed energy to the Azulones but they have been experiencing some difficulties away from home so far this season.

The match against Valencia probably does not come at the best of times, although when playing in front of their loyal supporters, Getafe tend to be particularly strong.

The last time both sides met at the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez was last November and back then Valencia won 1-0 thanks to a goal from Pabon. Next Monday, the match will certainly be very close but judging by their recent performances, Valencia might enjoy from a slight advantage.
