Next Sunday, 3rd of May 2015, Valencia will entertain the relegation threatened SD Eibar at the emblematic Mestalla Stadium for round 35 of the Spanish Liga BBVA.
After a solid 4-0 win over Granada last weekend, Valencia failed to get anything better than a draw during their travel to Vallecas on Thursday. Los Che had to dig very deep in order to snatch one point against Paco Jemez’s boys, who once again showed their power when playing at home. The Madrid team opened the scored before the 20’ minute of the match thanks to an Embarba’s goal and firmly grabbed on to their advantage until the middle of the second-half when Valencia’s captain Dani Parejo netted in the equalizer.
Valencia have definitely been one of the best teams of La Liga so far this season and the work of their new manager, Nuno Espirito Santo, cannot go unnoticed. The former Portuguese goalkeeper keeps showing all his managerial skills and after a pretty good work with Rio Ave, he is now slowly restoring some of Valencia’s lost strength and dignity.
The upcoming clash against the SD Eibar will certainly present a good opportunity for Los Che to return to wins; nevertheless, they cannot take that for granted, especially if we think that their opponents are currently struggling against relegation.
As for SD Eibar, after a quality start, the Basque team has been experiencing some difficulties in the second-half of the season. The La Liga’s newcomers are on a very poor streak of results with four consecutive defeats on their last five matches and for that reason the upcoming clash against Valencia certainly does not at the best of times.
Their manager Gaizka Garitano will need to rally his troops for the final matches of the season as they are now dangerously close to the relegation zone.
Despite having failed to win their last league match, Nuno Espirito Santo’s Valencia are firm favourites for the upcoming clash against SD Eibar as it is not likely that the Basque team will be able to upset one of La Liga’s most solid teams when playing at home.
