Next Wednesday, 21st of October 2015, the ten-time European champions of Real Madrid will travel to France to go head-to-head with Ligue 1 current holders, Paris SG, at Parc des Princes for the third match of the UEFA Champions League Group Stage.
With both sides playing for the leadership of Group A, Real Madrid are probably those having a slight advantage for next Wednesday’s match at the French capital city. Los Blancos have an excellent defensive record so far this season, with just two goals conceded in 10 competitive matches. Atlético Madrid and Athletic Bilbao were the only teams who dared disturb Keylor Navas, who keeps doing a brilliant job in replacing the legendary Iker Casillas at Real Madrid’s goal this season.
Last weekend, Los Blancos have not experienced any major problems in overcoming Levante, who have defeated the former La Liga leaders, Villarrea,l in the previous round, but who didn’t stand a chance against a strong and well organized Real Madrid. Cristiano Ronaldo became the team’s top scorer of all-time after scoring Los Blancos’ second goal last weekend, overcoming the legendary Spanish forward Raúl González.
James Rodriguez, Gareth Bale and Carvajal are still recovering from their respective injuries and will not be part of Rafa Benitez’s plans for the upcoming Champions League match.
As for Paris SG, the current Ligue 1 champions are once again going through a splendid moment on both domestic and international competitions. The Parisien team won their last five competitive matches and are yet to be defeated for official fixtures so far this season. After overcoming their long time rivals of Olympique Marseille before the international break, Paris SG clinched their eighth win of the season as they’ve defeated SC Bastia by 2-0 with goals from Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Paris SG have won their last two previous UEFA Champions League matches and are at the top of the group alongside with Real Madrid with six points. David Luiz and Marco Verratti are in doubt for next Wednesday’s match with Real Madrid as they are still recovering from minor injuries.
