10th placed Monaco take on 6th place Lyon in a highly anticipated match of game-week 10 of the 2015/2016 Ligue 1 campaign on October 16th.
With just 13 points from 9 games, AS Monaco are just inside the top ten in the French Ligue 1 and the bosses at the club would be hoping to improve the home form as they prepare to tackle one of the most successful French clubs in the form of Lyon at Stade Louis II, this Friday. Les Rouges et Blancs have not enjoyed the best of starts to the season and their home form in particular, is a major cause of concern for manager, Leonardo Jardim.
Les Monegasques are yet to win a game at home this season with two draws and two losses not a record to be proud of. The Principality side managed to get only a point from their last game in Ligue 1, as they were held to a frustrating 1-1 draw by Stade Rennais FC. Jardim’s side have managed to notch up just 2 points at home so far this season and would be hoping to change that when they take on Lyon on Friday. However, they would have to do so without the services of their top scorer from last season, Anthony Martial, who has joined English Premier League giants, Manchester United during the summer.
Olympique Lyonnais on the other hand, would be looking to build on from their hard-fought yet an impressive 1-0 win over Stade de Reims last game week. Manager Hubert Fournier would accept nothing less than a victory over a struggling Monaco side knowing that playing early and getting a victory will take his side all the way to the third position in the league table.
Lyon will again be relying on their most influential player Nabil Fekir, who has 4 goals to his name this season. However, their star player from the last season, Alexandre Lacazette, needs to step up if Lyon truly want to play to their potential. After a frustrating summer, where he was linked with a move away from the club, the young Frenchman has started to settle down and shown glimpses of his true potential which is going to play a vital role as Les Gones get ready to mount a serious title assault this season.
