Saint-Etienne prepare to take on a winless Gazelec Ajaccio side, when the two teams face off at Stade Geoffroy-Guichard this Saturday in Gameweek 10 of 2015-16 Ligue 1 campaign.

AS Saint-Etienne enter this game on the back of a disappointing result when they were defeated on the road at the hands of high-flying SM Caen last gameweek. A 62^nd minute strike from Andy Delort was enough to settle the match, leaving ASSE empty handed. Despite the defeat, Saint-Etienne have enjoyed a good start to the 2015-16 Ligue 1 season and they would be hoping to get back to winning ways when they play hosts to Ajaccio. 

With 5 wins out of 9 games, things are looking bright for Christophe Galtier’s side, who has transformed the Rhone side into a formidable team over the last few years. The likes of Loic Perrin and Romain Hamouma have impressed so far this season and have helped their side achieved some good results. Perrin in particular has looked lively and really threatening in front of the goal and has 3 goals to his name already with 2 of them coming at Stade Geoffroy-Guichard. A game against rock-bottom  Ajaccio  has come at a right time for ASSE following their slip up last week, as they can register an easy win over the visitors and get their campaign back on track.

GFC Ajaccio on the other hand, have endured a miserable start to the new season and are yet to register a win in the 2015-16 Ligue 1 campaign, either at home or away. Le Gaz squandered a 2-1 lead against Toulouse last week with the game ending in a 2-2 draw leaving coach, Thierry Laurey disappointed with the result, who has vowed to get his team back to winning ways sooner rather than later.

Ajaccio are in dire need of a win here but getting three points against a very good looking Saint-Etienne would be a tough ask for Laurey’s men. And the fact that Ajaccio are playing away from home, where they have lost 4 games while drawing 1 so far this season, conceding seven goals in the process while scoring just one. None of their players have managed to score more than one goal this season with Kader Mangane, Mohamed Larbi, Kevin Mayi and Gregory Pujol, all scoring one goal apiece this season. The visitors need a little bit of luck in front of the goal this season if they want to register their first win of the season against ASSE, who are coming on the back of three consecutive defeats, two in Ligue 1 and one in the Europa League at the hands of Serie A side, Lazio.
