Bordeaux look to seal another three points when they host struggling Montpellier at Nouveau Stade de Bordeaux on Sunday, October 18th.
Les Girondins are coming in Gameweek 10 of the 2015-16 Ligue 1 campaign on the back of disappointing 3-2 draw at the hands of FC Lorient and would be looking to put the disappointment of that result behind them when they lock horns with a struggling Montpellier side stuck in an early relegation battle. The hosts are currently 14th in the league standings with just 10 points to their name with a goal difference of -3. After nine games, the hosts have managed to registered just 2 wins while losing 3 and drawing 4 games in the process.
Bordeaux will be relying on their top scorer of the season and outstanding performer in the 2015-16 so far, Wahbi Khazri. The Tunisian has scored 4 goals for his side this season and would be hoping to add to his tally when FCGB take on La Paillade at the weekend, who are currently struggling to find form at the moment. The visitors finished last season on 7th position in the league but are currently 18th in the 2015-16 Ligue 1 campaign.
With just four points on the table, Rolland Courbis’ side has won just one of their nine games this season. They have so far drawn one of their games while in the other 7 games, La Paillade has tasted defeat. Other than Jonas Martin, who has scored two goals in all competitions this season, no other Montpellier player has managed to score more than one goal, which has been a major worry for the bosses at the club. Lack of firepower upfront has cost MHSC a number of points this season and they need to find a way to find the back of the net on a more regular basis if they are to improve their league position.
Montpellier have won only one of their last 5 games and they are coming in Sunday’s game on the back of a 2-0 defeat at the hands of LOSC Lille. The bosses at the club are aware of the fact that the club hierarchy and the fans are slowly losing patience with the team’s bad form and there is a dire need to get a positive result sooner rather than later. The game against Bordeaux can very well be the start of a revival for La Paillade but getting all three points away from home might be a little tough for the visitors. However, even getting a point out of Sunday’s game would be a good result for Rolland Courbis’ side.
