Next Wednesday, 23rd of September 2015, Thomas Tuchel’s new Borussia Dortmund will travel to Baden-Würtemberg to measure forces with Hoffenheim at Wirsol-Rhein-Neckar-Arena for Round 6 of Bundesliga.
Borussia Dortmund extended their superb season start last weekend by hammering Bayer Leverkusen at home. Der BVB once again controlled the match and offered their opponents small chances of success. Thomas Tuchel’s men enjoyed from more ball possession percentage, had 22 attempts on goal and took full advantage of Bayer Leverkusen’s defensive mistakes.
It has been a delight to the eye to see Dortmund playing ever since Thomas Tuchel took the helm of the team last summer. Der BVB is currently at the top of the Bundesliga table, side-by-side with their long term rivals, Bayern Munich, and they have already scored 18 goals and conceded only two in five league matches so far.
On Wednesday, the Die Schwarzgelben will face a team that is definitely not going through a very positive moment at the Bundesliga but that managed to snatch four points frin Borussia Dortmund when both sides met at Wirsol-Rhein-Neckar-Arena.
For that particular match, Thomas Tuchel will most certainly still not be able to count on the contribution from Nuri Sahin and Erik Durm, both of them currently sidelined due to injury.
As for Hoffenheim, Die Kraichgauer are definitely not going a very positive moment since they have only managed to win one of the five Bundesliga matches they have played so far. After a painful home defeat against Viktor Skrypnyk’s Werder Bremen two weeks ago, Hoffenheim didn’t manage to grab anything noteworthy during their travel to Mainz last Friday, where they were once again defeated by 3-1.
The French midfielder Jonathan Schmid offered Hoffenheim the lead, but just five minutes later Yunus Malli scored the equalizer and initiated FSV Mainz’ comeback.
Jiloan Hamad, Filip Malbasic and Kai Herdling are all currently sidelined due to injury and will almost certainly miss their team’s match against Borussia Dortmund next Wednesday.
