Next Saturday, 10th September 2016, current league leaders UD Las Palmas will visit Andalucia to measure forces with Sevilla at Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán for Round 3 of La Liga Santander.
UD Las Palmas are enjoying a fantastic league start after winning their first two leagues matches. A spectacular 4-2 win at Mestalla against Valencia paved way to last round’s goal galore against Granada CF at Gran Canaria, but UD Las Palmas are far more than a team that scored 9 goals in their first two league matches.
Head Coach Quique Setién’s work cannot go unnoticed, especially if we have in mind that he had only arrived at the team last season. UD Las Palmas are now an extremely solid team and meticulously organized both technically and tactically.
Newcomers Kevin-Prince Boateng and Marko Livaja have been of pivotal importance for the team’s recent wins, something that proves that the new season have been particularly well prepared.
Ghanaian international Kevin-Prince Boateng is currently recovering from an ankle injury and is in doubt out there. Javi Castellano and Hernan are also struggling with injury problems and are also doubts for the visit to Andalucia.
As for Sevilla, after first round’s spectacular 6-4 home win against RCD Espanyol, the Andalucia outfit failed to get anything better than a draw from their visit to El Madrigal last time out.
Sevilla are a far different team from last season and Jorge Sampaoli’s effect is already becoming blatantly obvious in the team’s game. Sevilla still lack some consistency and there is still a lot to be done, but they will certainly do everything within their reach to return to winning ways next time out.
Ivan Alvarez and Michael Krohn-Dehli remain sidelined due to injury and will miss next round’s match against UD Las Palmas. Daniel Carriço, Benoit Tremoulinas and Sergio Escudero, on the other hand, are all fully recovered from their respective injuries and will be at Sampaoli’s disposal next weekend.
