Pep Guardiola is still on course to have his best year at Bayern Munich in his final year at the club. He can seal a 3^rd league title in his 3 year stay at the club with victory over Monchengladbach. Their focus will be on the Champions League however as they take on Atletico Madrid on Wednesday night in the semi-finals. Bayern enjoyed a relatively comfortable 2-0 victory over 4^th placed Hertha Berlin with goals from Arturo Vidal and Douglas Costa. Robert Lewandowski has hit a rare dry patch in his successful career as the Polish forward has scored just 2 goals in his last 6 starts. His phenomenal start to the season has kept him top of the goal scoring charts however as he currently has 27 league goals with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang of Borussia Dortmund trailing in 2^nd by 4 goals.

Borussia Monchengladbach are just 1 point off Hertha Berlin for the final Champions League place in the Bundesliga. Victory over Hoffenheim at the weekend continued their fine home form where they’ve now won 7 consecutive matches. On the road it is a different story as they’ve gained just 1 point from their previous 8 away games. Monchengladbach registered a staggering 24 shots on Hoffenheim’s goal but were helped by an early own goal by the opposition which they never recovered from. The hosts had a slight scare shortly after half time when Andrej Kramaric pulled one back for Hoffenheim but the 2 goal cushion was restored within 7 minutes. Monchengladbach will be desperate to achieve back-to-back qualifications for the Champions League after they upset the odds last year.

Bayern Munich have slipped up just once at home in the league this year as they suffered a shock loss at the hands of Mainz. Bayern could be tempted to rest players as they look to navigate their way into the 2016 Champions League final.
