Next Saturday, 29th October 2016, an Atlético Madrid hurting in their pride will measure forces with motivated Málaga at Estadio Vicente Calderón for Round 10 of the Spanish Liga BBVA.
After hammering Granada CF by 7-1 and win, on a cold Russian night, at Rostov for the UEFA Champions League, Atlético Madrid have failed to extend their excellent moment of form and ended up defeated at Ramon Sánchez Pizjuán by a Sevilla that keep improving under the helm of Jorge Sampaoli. It was an extremely complicated match for the Colchoneros, who struggle to have the ball in their possession and to create proper chances to score and ended up surprised by a quick counter-attack movement finished by Steven N’Zonzi 20 minutes before the end of the match.
Next weekend’s match against Málaga will surely not be an easy one as well, since the visitors tend to pull off some decent performances every time they visit Vicente Calderón.
Spanish international midfielder Koke, who picked up a red card last time out, will miss the upcoming match due to suspension. Augusto Fernández will also miss out there because of a long term knee injury, while Giménez, who is still recovering from a hamstring problem, remains in doubt.
As for Málaga, the Andalusian outfit are currently going through a good moment of form and have not been defeated in their last three outings. After a home win over Athletic Bilbao and a goalless draw at Mendizorroza against Deportivo Alavés, Málaga completely hammered La Liga newcomers Léganes by 4-0. The Boquerones have pulled off an extremely solid performance to grab their third win in nine matches so far this season and will surely take that to cause Atlético Madrid a major upset next time out.
Charles, Llorente, Keko and Weligton are out of next match due to injury, while powerful Serbian midfielder Zdravko Kuzmanovic is in doubt because of a recent Achilles tendon issue.
