Next Sunday, 2nd October 2016, Spanish champions Barcelona will visit Galicia to measure forces with a moralized Celta de Vigo at Los Balaídos for Round 7 of La Liga Santander.

After their unimpressive season start, Celta de Vigo are finally getting back on track and managed to win their last three competitive matches. A narrow home win over Sporting de Gijón has paved the way for the three-match undefeated streak ahead of next weekend’s match against the Catalan outfit.

Last Sunday night, Los Celestes clawed an important win at Cornellà-El Prat against RCD Espanyol, but they had to dig very deep in order to secure the three points. A late goal by versatile Italian forward Giuseppe Rossi and another on injury time by promising Uganda born winger Pione Sisto helped Celta de Vigo to grab their second consecutive win of the new season.

Last Thursday, Los Celestes extended their winning streak, overcoming the Greek outfit of Panathinaikos at Los Balaídos by 2-0 in their second UEFA Europa League group stage match.

Carles Planes, Claudio Beauvue and Fabian Orellana remain sidelined due to injury and will miss next Sunday’s important match against Barcelona.

As for Barcelona, the current La Liga champions pulled of a solid 5-0 win at El Molinón last weekend against Sporting de Gijón returning to winning ways after their midweek draw with Atlético Madrid.

The Catalan outfit had an extremely difficult opponent to overcome when they visited Germany last Wednesday. Borussia Monchengladbach gave Barcelona an extremely hard day on the job, but in the end Luis Enrique’s men left the Borussia-Park with the three points.

Barcelona’s superstar Lionel Messi and Samuel Umtiti remain sidelined due to injury and will miss next Sunday’s visit to Galicia.
