Next Saturday, 24th of October 2015, the all-powerful Real Madrid will travel to Galicia to measure forces with Celta de Vigo at Los Balaídos for Round 9 of the Spanish Liga BBVA.
Celta de Vigo are definitely one of the best teams of La Liga at the moment. By the hand of Eduardo Berizzo, who continued the work started by Luis Enrique before the latter joined FC Barcelona, the Galician team has been drastically improving as the matches go by. Celta are currently on the second place of the table with the exact same points of Real Madrid and Barça and are, alongside with Los Blancos, the only team yet to be defeated at the Spanish football top tier.
Last Sunday morning, “Toto” Berizzo’s men traveled to El Madrigal to snatch a very important win over a close contender, Villarreal. Last season, the Submarino Amarillo “robbed” six points from Celta, but this time, the Galician team pulled rank and left the Comunidad Valenciana with the deserved win. Orellana and Nolito were once again of the utmost importance for the team after scoring Celta’s two goals last time out.
The newcomer Dejan Drazic and the Spanish defender Andreu Fontas are fully recovered from their respective injuries and they are available for the upcoming fixture against Los Blancos.
As for Real Madrid, after a solid home win over Levante last weekend, the Spanish capital city didn’t manage to get anything better than a draw from their visit to Parc des Princes last Wednesday’s night.
Los Blancos’ match with Paris SG ended up in a goalless draw and not even the attempts of the usual suspect, Cristiano Ronaldo, were enough to overcome the Parisien goalie Kevin Trapp.
Real Madrid are the best defensive line of La Liga with just two goals conceded from eight matches so far. Rafa Benitez managed to improve the team’s defensive effectiveness, and although the team might not look as accurate up front as they used to, they appear to a more balanced team, in contrast to what happened last term.
Gareth Bale, Pepe, James Rodriguez, Carvajal and Karim Benzema will almost certainly lose their team’s travel to Los Balaídos, since they all remain sidelined due to injury. The Croatian midfielder Mateo Kovacic picked up a muscle injury in Paris and he is in doubt next time out.
