Next Saturday, 7th of November 2015, Eduardo Berizzo’s super Celta de Vigo will measure forces with an extremely inconsistent Valencia CF at Los Balaídos for Round 11 of the Spanish Liga BBVA.
Celta de Vigo’s match at Anoeta last weekend was truly an anthem to football with both teams producing top quality performances. Real Sociedad were probably the best team during the first-half and went to the break winning 2-1, thanks two goals from the usual suspect, Imanol Agirretxe. The Galician team, however, pulled rank in the second-half and ended up winning the match by 3-2 after a late, but by all means spectacular, goal from “Tucu” Hernández. Despite being delighted with his goal, the Chilean midfielder highlighted the need of continuing with the work that has been being done until now, since there is still much to play until the end of the season.
Los Celestes were only defeated once so far this season, against Real Madrid at Los Balaídos, two weeks ago. Nevertheless, Celta reacted immediately, and their superb performance during their last outing was proof that they are one of the best teams at Spanish football right now.
Gustavo Cabral, who missed last weekend’s match due to suspension, will return for the fixture against Valencia and will certainly be part of Eduardo Berizzo’s choices for the initial line-up.
As for Valencia, Los Che are not having the best of starts on both domestic and international competitions so far this season and supporters are already turning their backs to Nuno Espirito Santo, who did a remarkable job with the team last term.
After a 3-0 home win over Levante in the Comunidad Valenciana derby over the weekend, Valencia failed once again to produce a solid performance at the UEFA Champions League. Los Che were defeated at Belgium by KAA Gent and are now in deep trouble to grant a place in the next stage of the competition.
At the end of the match, the Portuguese manager, claimed that he and his team were embarrassed with their performance, but he reminded reporters that Valencia only depends on themselves to book a place on the next stage of the UEFA Champions League.
