Next Monday, 25th of April 2016, a relegation threatened Granada will visit Galicia to measure forces with Celta de Vigo at Los Balaídos on the last match of Round 35 of the Spanish Liga BBVA.
Celta de Vigo are going through a particularly positive run at La Liga after not being defeated in their last six matches. Early this week, Los Celestes visited Catalunya to play against Espanyol and got away with a 1-1 draw thanks to a first-half goal by the canterano Iago Aspas, who sent home a very good cross by Fabian Orellana. It wasn’t by any means an easy match for Celta de Vigo, who sometimes struggled to contain Espanyol’s attacking approaches. Before the break, the Pericos got the equalizer with a spectacular goal by Marco Asensio from outside the box. Both teams worked hard after the break, but nothing changed until the final whistle and they were forced to share the points.
Celta are comfortably sitting in the 6h place of the league table with 54 points from 34 matches and, if they overcome Granada next time out, they might able to change places with Athletic Bilbao, who currently occupy the 5th place with the same points as the Galician team.
For that particular match, Eduardo Berizzo, will not be able to rely on the services of Claudio Beauvue and Andreu Fontas, who are likely to miss the rest of the season due to injury.
As for Granada, the Andalusia team have managed to quickly react to their defeat at Vicente Calderón hammering Levante at Los Carménes by 5-1 early this week. The Nazaries put up a solid performance and benefited from an extremely uninspired match from their rivals to claw some vital three points on their quest against relegation. A hat-trick by the Moroccan forward Youssef El-Arabi helped the team to maintain their one point advantage over Sporting Gijón and to keep their heads above water for another week.
For next Monday’s extremely important match at Los Balaídos, José González, will not be able to count on Ricardo Costa and Rubén Pérez, who are both currently suspended. Success and Foulquier will also miss out there due to injury.
