Next Monday, 11th of April 2016, a super inspired UD Las Palmas will travel to Galicia to measure forces with Deportivo de La Coruña at the emblematic Riazor for the last match of Round 32 of the Spanish Liga BBVA.
UD Las Palmas have won five of their last six competitive matches and it is fair to say that they are one of the impressive teams of La Liga at the moment. Quique Setién was awarded with the Manager of the Month prize back in March, while his team keeps displaying some quality football week after week.
Last time out, the islanders came from behind to overcome a fragilized Valencia, who managed to open the score very early in the match. A mistake by Javi Varas offered Rodrigo the possibility to score Valencia’s first goal and the young forward didn’t let the opportunity go to waste. UD Las Palmas pulled rank after the break and controlled the match in the second half, scoring two goals that allowed them to claw their fourth win in their last five matches. For next Monday’s visit to Riazor, Quique Setién will not be able to rely on the services of the talented Brazilian forward Willian José, who is currently suspended. Javi Castellano, who is still recovering from a long term injury, will also miss out there.
As for Deportivo, after defeating Levante at Riazor before the international break, the Galician team clawed a 1-1 draw on their local derby against Celta de Vigo last time out. An early goal by Celso Borges allowed Depor to open the score, but just a few minutes later, Nolito clawed the equalized with a spectacular effort from the edge of the box. It was a very close clash between two quality teams that were forced to share the points at the end of the match.
It was, nevertheless, a complicated match for Deportivo, who saw their captain, German Lux, being substituted during the first-half because of injury. The Argentinean goalkeeper will miss next Monday’s match against UD Las Palmas. The Spanish centre-back Alejandro Arribas will also miss out there due to suspension.
